Open Bargaining Feedback Survey

Please answer this brief survey to help us improve our open bargaining sessions and provide feedback on proposals to our bargaining team! This survey should take no more than five minutes. Your answers are automatically saved and submitted, even if you get timed out (after about 10 minutes).

Our bargaining session on Thursday was hosted by Peninsula Elementary and our members were able to hear in-person the District’s disappointing responses to our compensation proposal and safety proposal.

Members entered the bargaining room chanting FAIR COLA NOW and it felt great to stand in solidarity with PFSP staff from across the district in the face of a caustic new PPS lead negotiator, Sharon Toncray.

COMPENSATION

PPS countered our initial 11.5% cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) over a three year contract with 3.75% over three years. PPS also countered our proposal for parity with PAT and a switch to a percentage based employer health insurance contribution with a mere $19 increase to their current flat rate monthly contribution.

SAFETY

PPS also denied almost our entire safety proposal, which initially included protections for environmental dangers, more support in dealing with student incidents, and consistent safety committee meetings in keeping with established OSHA regulations.

Additionally, the district responded to almost a dozen other non-economic proposals we passed in late April, such as job training, and staff reductions.

We tentatively agreed on our second article: personnel file.

🤔 How can you support our fight for a strong contract? 🤔

  • Wear green on Thursdays! Show that you're proud to be in PFSP.
  • Support your community, become a member! Your dues go to providing mutual aid to our PFSP family and ensuring we can support each other no matter what.
  • Attend union events and actions! Get together with your coworkers over the summer to build long-lasting connections. Share invitations to events even if you can't attend yourself.
  • Run to be a site rep for the 26-27 school year! Get hands-on training and feel good knowing you're helping to advocate for the rights of PFSP staff at your site.

Our next bargaining session will begin at 5pm on June 4th at the Holladay Center. Show up in green and demand safer working conditions and a fair COLA! RSVP Here.
